Hi guys, just wanted to share something about our right front tire, specifically rolling the tire off of the bead.
About 3/4 of the way through the year I had a right front tire roll off of the bead. I was running about 16 lbs of air at this point. Our street stock rules dont let us run a beadlock on the right front so after seeing some pictures of the car on corner exit, I decided I didnt have enough camber using a stock upper control arm so I bought a IMCA spec tubular upper control arm. I also welded small bumps on the inner part of the wheel to help. We ran it that way for about 3 weeks until I rolled another right front off of the bead with about 19 pounds of air in the tire This time we decided to put tubes in the right front tire. That didnt help as the tube tore 3 laps into a heat race and the baby powder made it look like I had about 20 lbs of cocaine in the tire. I went out in the feature with about 25 lbs of air in the right front and came from 15th to 4th. The next week we had Diamond Racing wheels build a wheel for us that was basically bulletproof. Unfortunately I put the right side of the car in the wall that week, but unmounting the tire was what showed me the strength of that wheel. I had to cut the wheel in order to get the tire off of the rim.
Anyone have problems with this? Is it possibly due to the fact that my roll cage is probably the heaviest at the track? Just want to hear your opinion.

I always ran around 20-22 pounds in the right front, never had a problem

I think alot of people run to little air in the RF, when we ran stockcars, I always had 20-22 in the RF. We couldnt run beadlocks on the RF either. The extra air you put in the RF also helped jack some wedge into the setup, so that would help your drive off the corner also. They dont put tread on the sidewall, so put enough air in the tire to keep it off the sidewall in the corner. Just my .02
