OK… my shop has been an absolute mess for two + years. I had a real busy 2013 and it got pretty bad. Now that winter is nearly here i need to straighten up, take a bunch of scrap in to recycle (about one ton already… almost done) and clean the floor, etc.
So I look in the corner where i have a few crankshafts standing so I go thru what I have. One Olds 330 steel crank… that I knew I had (I have another in a block, too)… three SBM 318 forged cranks (I remember buying one!), one 360 Mopar (matches the 360 I have in the Malibu… long story), two SJ 327's and one LJ 350.
I only have one Chevy block… a 327 SJ with a bad cylinder that's at the machine shop (along with another LJ 350). So it seems I have four cranks for one Chevy block.
Two cranks for the 330 Olds… and I have five cranks for the two SBM's I have (one is in a 318 block).
Plus I have three SBC iron intakes, two 330 Olds intakes and two SBM intakes (one iron one 340 Torker).
Now I know why the joint is a mess!

It used to be worse… I was known as the local Flathead Ford rescue service at one time. Before the traditional hot rod (and rat rod movement) went mainstream guy were pulling those old Ford motors left and right… and they gave them to me. When i finally ran out of room I had 18 complete engines in stock plus enough parts to build another 10 or 12.
Then there was my early Hemi addiction… but I only had seven at one time. I had five Triumph sports cars at one time… two in the shop, three in a storage building and two under tarps on my patio.
And the saga continues...

I just traded one of my 'found' treasures… a 327 LJ crank.
I had gotten it free a couple years ago from a buddy then it disappeared in my mountain of junk. I found it in a remote corner of my shop then it was 'lost' again at my engine shop. I had dropped it off earlier this year to get cleaned and polished. Since Gary (my engine guy) couldn't find mine, he substituted a fresh 10/10 crank. Mine was already 20/main and 30/rods so I got a better deal.
Yesterday I traded it for 160# of lead in nice bricks. You'd think a guy with a fat ass like mine wouldn't need any lead…. but I may have to use it on the right side of my car to keep it from tipping over!
