I'm asking what is the limit side to side angle of driveshaft between tranny and rear yoke at ride height ? When setting left side wheels to track straight shaft angle is a little to the left at ride height and rear moves left one inch at full drop. This is with a 4" backspace L.R. wheel. I can use 5" backspace wheel to move yoke 1" to right if needed. Not sure if I'm wording this ? understandably or not ? Thanks=#01H

Only one way to know for sure is let the LR hang on the chain and jack the RR up to simulate the corner and slowly spin driveshaft and check clearance. I have ground on the yoke in the past for additional clearance. You dont want to grind a ton, but a little makes a big difference. Your "J" Bar position and Angle will be the only thing that moves the rear left and right. The wheel offsets are just along for the ride.

Good tip on sucking R.R. up to simulate car in corner. Brings rearend back about 1/4" to the right. I'll explain my thoughts on wheel backspace better. First, I had it backwards. I had 5" on car. I'll move birdcages, clamp brackets 1" to left on rear tubes to move rear 1" to right. I'll use 4" b.s. wheel to lineup leftside track. The reason I have this problem is I have offset Q.C. and can't afford to change tubes. I think this will get me in the safe working range of the u-joint. The tips you give in your posts, on this and other forums, have helped me a lot in understanding what the suspension goes thru while on the track. A little side story--- I only had 1 win last season and when receiving the trophy and being asked if I had anybody to thank for help, I forgot my sponsors. I said racer96m, confused and Toywagon. The guy looked at me a little funny. L.O.L. Thanks= #01H

Thankyou and your welcome. Like I have said many times, there is much I dont know, so I can only comment and post on the things I have experience with. Trying to help on these sites is always a learning experience for me as well. Someone always posts something that makes me think about a problem from a different angle, I guess thats why I do it. Congrats on the win and best of luck in the future!
