I'm running a 4.5" bolt circle on the rear of my super. Anybody have any suggestion for brake rotors? I'm thinking of using a Dodge Caravan rotor… 10.3" diameter… about 1/2" solid disc, the depth is right and they weigh 12.2 lbs.
I'd like a little lighter deal… found some that are 9 lbs. but somehow I lost the part #'s. I'm using a metric brake caliper and weld on brackets.
I can't spend the $$$ to buy the aftermarket aluminum hats and bolt on discs… will a solid disc take the heat?

Click (Link) above. This is how I would do it. 11.75 x .810 rotor with the steel hat that fits the 4.5 pattern. Can get as kit with GM Metric caliper brackets or separately. Dave

Nice kit… the steel hats would likely be lighter than the vented rotor w/integral hat that I've been looking at… most are 16-19 lbs. The solid discs can be as light as 11 lbs.
I'm going to do some exploring at my local parts store today.…. I'll bring along my scale to check weights.

If you wanted to Re drill a rotor, we have a used a 96 camaro rear disc, its on a 4 3/4 pattern but I would use a multi pattern wheel spacer as a guide to re drill the 4 1/2 pattern on a drill press. Works perfectly with the metric calipers and is cheep at autozone. Just a thought.
