I'd like your ideas on radiators. I have a good used Northern single pass in stock. Looks like a good unit… it came out of a pavement late model.
Now my questions… what brand have you used and how about the good, bad and the ugly about each. Is a double pass worth the $$$? Speedway radiators… any good? How about AFCO?
Your ideas are welcome.

I run a double pass. Speedway radiators are fine. I use done last year with no problems. I have used Afcos in the past and have no issues with them. Single pass would probably work for you but hard to say. No real negative with any of them.

The only thing I watch out for is if the core is epoxied to the tanks or soldered. I believe the speedway rads are all epoxied. The life expectancy of the epoxied cores is less than desirable. I run the AllStar rads. The price is good and they are all soldered. Nothing wrong with a single pass. I use a double but both will get the job done if you water pump pulley speeds are correct.

The rad I have is a 22"… going to try to have the new brackets built to accept a 26" core… that can't hurt.

I use afco single pass with no problems. Have used Griffen in the past with no problem. As stated the trick is to get pullys ect. right. A air deflector at the bottom and a fan shroud helps. Speedway and Allstar are both furnace brazed. Afco is tig welded. Not sure about Northern but buddy runs one successfully. If I were you I would flush and pressure check the northern you have and give it a try , but that's just me. =#01H

I've got a 20 dollar bill invested in this Northern… it's worth a try.
